TTSL Ferries ("the App") provides ferry schedule information for Transtejo and Soflusa routes in Lisbon, Portugal. It is an unofficial app, built independently of the operator.
There are no accounts and nothing to sign in to. Looking up schedules, live departures and announcements sends nothing that identifies you or your device. Two things you choose to do — sending feedback and turning on notifications — do send data, and this page says exactly what.
If you open the feedback form and send it, the submission carries:
We use this to find bugs and decide what to improve. It reaches the author of the app, not Transtejo or Soflusa.
The first time the app runs it generates a random identifier and keeps it on the device. It is not linked to an account, a name, an advertising ID or anything else about you; its only job is to let us tell one person's three messages apart from three people's one message, and to enforce a daily limit on how much can be sent. If you reinstall the app or clear its data, a different identifier is generated and nothing connects it to the old one.
Feedback is kept for 24 months from the day it was sent, and is deleted after that.
Your email address is used for nothing but replying to that message. Once the reply has been sent, the address is removed from our records; the message itself stays, without it. If you would rather not be reachable at all, leave the field empty — everything else works the same.
The network address your submission arrives from is not stored. The server uses it in flight, to limit how many requests it accepts per hour, and keeps no record of it — not on the message, not in a log, not in hashed form.
Notifications are off until you enable them. When you do, the app registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging and stores, on our server: the registration token issued to your device, the platform, the interface language, and the routes (or all announcements) you chose to follow. It holds nothing else — no name, no address, no contact details.
The token identifies the installation to Google's delivery service, not you. Turning notifications off in the app removes the registration from our server and discards the token on the device.
Your preferences (theme, language, chosen route, which announcements you have read) are stored locally on your device and are not sent anywhere. The app also keeps a short log of its own errors on the device; that log stays there unless you explicitly attach it to a feedback message.
Requests for schedules, live departures and announcements carry only the route and date needed to answer them. Nothing that identifies you or your device is attached to them.
The App integrates no analytics, advertising or tracking services. The one third party involved is Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google), which delivers push notifications, and only if you have turned them on.
The App is not directed at children. It asks for no personal information from anyone; the only personal data it can hold is an email address a user chooses to type into the feedback form.
